being jane (yes, again!)

Just when you thought you had enough with all of those summer shirts...

Now a necklace, made with tiny glass pearls and a sweet Swarovski crystal cross.

Inspired by Lizzy and Jane's necklaces during my umpteenth viewing of Pride and Predjudice on a blustery winter's day.  Oh yeah--and a little Colin Firth. Oh. my. goodness.

spring apparent

Dsc_0001

Perhaps it's a bit early for such a sweet sign of Spring--this was probably only put out just in time for Valentine's day--but I had to stop to take a picture on my way to work.  It was a lovely display outside the Whole Foods that I pass by each day.  I'm sure that I looked ever the lunatic in my heels and skirt, snapping away photos in a grocery store parking lot.  Well worth the effort (and funny looks), though!  I feel so warm and hopeful every time I look at this picture.  Ahh, surely spring must be not far away!  **Forgive me for adding the image to my banner as well--it's going be bit of flowery around here until I can get another post between the two images!

And I'm very excited about an oh-so-wonderful new project that has quite unexpectedly emerged in my life as well.  I've been asked to contribute to something new (oh, how I wish I could reveal all of the details, but I can't quite yet!)  I'm posting this survey to gather more information to help tailor and add to it.  I hope that you can take part, and if so, thank you so much for helping me contribute to this exciting endeavor!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

portrait of a criminal with her stress bag

This precious bag was a joy to make, only it took a bit of trauma getting there!

I was running errands yesterday, and I was pulled over not once, but twice for expired tags. Now, how am I to be expected to remember car stuff during the holidays when said tags expired?!  Not that this was all that of a big deal, but I have never had a ticket in my life!   So after receiving that monumental piece of paper (worth $145 out of my pocket--thankyouverymuch Mr. police-officer-in-training), I drove straight to one of my favorite little local fabric shops for a fix.  Because, really, what feels better than lovely fabric when you're upset?  So I grabbed the pretty pink Jennifer Paganelli fabric and headed home. This took all of 15 minutes.  Well, headed down the road, I looked in my rear-view mirror and damn if there aren't blue lights flashing once again!   Apparently it was target the helpless female in a Volvo station wagon day on Glenwood Avenue.  I think the tears that I burst into got me out of a second ticket, either that, or a second ticket would have been double-jeopardy or something.  Oh well, wish me luck for my court date in March!

But a little stress sewing wasn't so bad.  I'm loving this bag--such an easy and quick feel-better fix!  Although, carrying it today I kinda felt like Ally Sheedy  in The Breakfast Club.  But in a good way. (check out her character's bag next time you see the movie) Slouchy and comfortable--just what I needed!
